Lausanne awards contract for Lavey hydropower plant control system

Lavey Hydropower Project

The city of Lausanne has awarded a US$1.2 million contract to Groupe E SA to expand and adapt the control system of Switzerland's 93-MW Lavey hydroelectric project.

The city most recently solicited bids for the work in October 2012, which is being performed to accommodate the addition of a new 29-MW turbine-generator.

HydroWorld.com reported earlier this month that Lausanne had also awarded a $4.4 million contract to Hans Kunz GmbH to supply intake and fish passage equipment as part of the same expansion project.
