U.S. seeks design, replacement of gates at 80-MW Denison Dam

Denison Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for design-build replacement of three flood gates at the 80-MW Denison Dam hydroelectric project in Texas. Bids are due May 1.

The Corps' Tulsa District said in March it planned to seek bids for the work. It took bids in February to replace two turbine runners at Denison Dam. The project forms Texoma Lake on the Red River in Texas. The Corps took bids in 2011 for events recording and warning equipment at Denison and seven other hydroelectric projects in Oklahoma and Texas.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corp now seeks replacement of flood gates and rehabilitation of liners including a design-build phase for three 9-foot by 19-foot vertical lift gates. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912BV14R0020 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Bids are due May 1. For information, contact Pamela S. Moody, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, CESWT-CT, 1645 S. 101st East Ave. Tulsa, OK 74128-4609; (1) 918-669-7457; E-mail: pamela.s.moody@usace.army.mil.
