A Norwegian lender invites expressions of interest from consultants to perform pre-feasibility studies of selected mini-hydropower projects in Liberia. Responses are due May 5.
The Norwegian water resources and energy directorate, Norges Vassdrags- og Energidirektorat (NVE), seeks consultants to perform architectural and engineering services for the Liberian mini-hydro projects. NVE last year named Verkis hf of Iceland to serve as owner's engineer for rehabilitation of five hydroelectric projects in Tanzania.
The World Bank last year recruited consultants to perform pre-feasibility studies of six to nine small hydropower sites in Liberia. The government also recruited consultants to provide social and environmental impact assessment training for power projects, including hydropower projects.
NVE said the current solicitation will be conducted using the Mercell Sourcing Service. Expressions of interest may be submitted and tender documents obtained via the Mercell Internet site under http://permalink.mercell.com/4367718.aspx.
Bids, in English, are due by noon May 5. For information, contact Martin Brittain, Norges Vassdrags- og Energidirektorat (NVE), Middelthunsgate 29, 0368 Oslo, Norway; (47) 22959313; E-mail: email@example.com; Internet: www.nve.no.
