Hyundai wins contract for 47 MW hydropower plant

South Korean conglomerate Hyundai Engineering Co. announced it has won a US$91.3 million award for the construction of a 47 MW hydropower plant in Indonesia.

Offered by Rajamandala Electric Power, the contract includes the powerhouse, tunnel and transmission lines. Hyundai will be responsible for all phases of the plant's development.

The Rajamandala project is expected to provide energy to Jakarta and the surrounding region.
