The European Investment Bank has approved a US$52 million loan to Bosnian utility Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH) for the construction of the 20-MW Vranduk hydropower project.

The Vranduk plant will be located on the Bosna River.

HydroWorld.com reported this past March that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development had included work on Vranduk as part of a $46.4 million loan to EPBiH.

EIB is also reported to have contributed a prior $36.1 million for the project.

The utility is currently seeking applications for pre-qualification to construct Vranduk.
