The Bureau of Reclamation invites applications for qualification to perform design and construction of habitat creation projects on the Lower Colorado River in three states. Questions may be submitted until March 21, with responses due April 2.

Reclamation collected information in December on firms capable of performing the work. The agency is tasked with creating or conserving thousands of acres of riparian, marsh and backwater habitats between 2,078-MW Hoover Dam and the U.S. border with Mexico. The Lower Colorado is a highly regulated river system that is managed to meet the water and power demands of Nevada, Arizona and California.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, Reclamation invites qualification by firms that are able to provide architect and engineering design services to support habitat creation in the Lower Colorado Region. The agency anticipates awarding an indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract to a firm with expertise in civil and hydraulic engineering, ecology, geomorphology, riparian biology, geographic information systems and landscape architecture.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R14PS00024 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box. Questions may be submitted until March 21 by e-mail to the address below.

Interested firms are invited to submit Standard Form 330 packages to the address below by 3 p.m., Pacific time, April 2. Forms may be obtained on the Internet at www.gsa.gov/portal/forms/type/TOP/category/22457/hostUri/portal.
