Turkey firm seeks bids to complete construction of 62-MW Dogancay hydro project

Dogancay Hydropower Project

Turkish hydropower developer EnerjiSA Enerji Uretim A.S. seeks bids to complete construction and hydro-mechanical works of the 62-MW Dogancay hydroelectric project on Turkey's Dogancay Stream. Documents may be obtained until March 25 with bids due April 7.

An EnerjiSA affiliate took bids in 2011 for construction of the Dogancay weir and hydro project in Adana Province. Last year, units of the Turkish developer took bids to build and equip 409.4-MW Pervari Dam on the Botan River and awarded a contract to Alstom to equip the 292-MW Alpaslan 2 project on the Murat River.

EnerjiSA, a joint venture of Turkish conglomerate Sabanci Holding and Austrian utility Verbund, now seeks bids to complete construction and hydro-mechanical works of Dogancay. The project includes a concrete gravity weir with controlled spillway; a 7-kilometer, 3.5-meter-diameter power tunnel; intake structure; underground powerhouse; surge tank; and 200-meter vertical, 500-meter horizontal penstocks.

EnerjiSA said the powerhouse has been completed as well as the horizontal penstock. Four kilometers of the energy tunnel, the surge tank and the penstock tunnels have been excavated. About 3 kilometers of energy tunnel must be completed with a tunnel-boring machine and vertical penstocks must be placed.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below until 5:30 p.m. March 25. Bids in Turkish are due by 4 p.m. April 7.
