Italian hydropower utility Edison S.p.A. seeks bids to supply turbine-generators and other equipment for three small hydroelectric projects to be built in Italy's Pavia and Cosenza provinces. Bids in two solicitations are due April 3.
Edison is a major Italian utility controlled by regional utility A2A and Electricite de France. In January it awarded a contract to Hydro Energia S.r.l. to supply two turbine generators and other equipment for the 2.6-MW Fontanamora hydroelectric project. In 2006 it named Andino Hydropower Eng. of France to supply replacement turbines to the Albano Dongo project and PAC S.p.A. of Italy to refurbish the 65-MW Ponte Gardena project.
In the first of two current solicitations, Edison seeks bids for design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of two Kaplan turbines, synchronous generators, and the balance of plant mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment of the 2.2-MW Palestro hydro project in Palestro, Pavia Province. The work is to require 18 months.
In a second solicitation, Edison seeks bids for design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of one or two Pelton turbines, synchronous generators, and the balance of plant mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment for two hydro projects in Cosenza Province. One is a 2.2-MW project in Rogliano on the Savuto River and Merone Creek. The other is a 4-MW project in Aprigliano on the Craticello and Girimizzi streams. Bids may be submitted for one or both projects, with the work to require 16 months.
Tender documents may be obtained from the address below. Bids, in English or Italian, are due for both solicitations on April 3.
