Bosnia pre-qualifies firms to build 20-MW Vranduk hydropower project

Utility Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina invites applications for pre-qualification to construct the 20-MW Vranduk hydroelectric project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Responses are due April 17.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved a US$46.4 million loan in 2013 for construction of Vranduk on the Bosna River, refurbishment of the 9.4-MW Una Kostela hydroelectric project, and construction of the 6.4-MW Una Kostela Annex on the Una River.

Elektroprivreda recruited consultants last year to assist project preparation and management of Vranduk and to perform preliminary design to refurbish Una Kostela and to construct Una Kostela Annex.

The utility now invites applications for pre-qualification for design, construction, equipment manufacturing and installation, testing and commissioning of Vranduk. The run-of-river project is to include a dam, fish ladder, intake, power tunnel, powerhouse containing three Kaplan turbine-generators, a 6-kilometer-long reservoir, tailrace, deepening of the riverbed downstream and access roads.

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below for 300 marka (US$212) or equivalent in convertible currency. Payment from overseas is via Vakufska Banka d.d. Sarajevo, Account 1990490176075902, in favor of JP EP BiH d.d. Sarajevo, with purpose of obtaining Pre-qualification Document No. EPBiH-HPP Vranduk-S&I/1-3/14-EBRD.
