Pakistan seeks governor, turbine parts for 1,450-MW Ghazi Barotha

Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids to supply spare parts for the governor system as well as for turbines and auxiliaries of the 1,450-MW Ghazi Barotha hydropower project. Bids are due February 20.

Ghazi Barotha went on line in 2003 on Pakistan's Indus River north of Islamabad. WAPDA took bids in 2008 for studies of the project to propose a solution to specific problems and to design remedial works. Pakistan's grid operator took bids in 2010 for an auto-transformer bank and switchgear for Ghazi Barotha's grid station.

WAPDA now seeks bids to supply spare parts for the hydraulic governor system and to supply spare parts for turbines and auxiliary equipment.

Solicitation documents may be obtained until February 19 from the address below for 1,000 rupees (US$9.50) by pay order or bank draft to Manager Finance (Hydel), WAPDA, Lahore payable at Habib Bank Ltd., Gardee Square Branch, Lahore (Account No. 1030-59) or to Chief Engineer (Power) GB, payable at Habib Bank Ltd., City Branch-Attock (Account No. 06620050001701). The tender notice may be obtained from WAPDA's Internet site, www.wapda.gov.pk, or from the Pakistan Public Procurement Regulatory Authority site, www.ppra.org.pk.
