More firms sought for biological studies in U.S. Snake, Columbia basins

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued another call for information on firms able to perform biological studies in the Snake and Columbia river basins of the Pacific Northwest. Responses are due Jan. 16.

The Corps' Walla Walla District convened a pre-proposal conference and took bids for similar work Nov. 29. The district took information in May on small businesses able to perform biological studies and fish studies in the Snake and Columbia basins and other areas of the Pacific Northwest. It issued a similar request for information in 2012.

In its latest sources sought notice, the Corps seeks information from both small and large businesses able to fulfill specific biological objectives identified primarily through its Anadromous Fish Evaluation Program. It is considering award of one or more multiple-award task order contracts to support Corps needs to continue biological investigations and respond to litigation-related issues associated with implementation of the Federal Columbia River Power System, Endangered Species Act and resulting biological opinion.

The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site,, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF14RSS13 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Responses are due by e-mail by 4 p.m., Pacific time, Jan. 16 to the address below. For information, contact Camilla Allen, Contract Specialist, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. 3rd Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362; (1) 509-527-7213; E-mail:
