Louisville District

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on architect-engineer firms able to provide geotechnical services for civil work and military projects in its five-state Louisville District. Responses are due Jan. 29.

The district awarded a contract in January to Tetra Tech/Pond & Co. for architect-engineer services for a range of military and civil works projects in the Corps' Great Lakes and Ohio River Division. The Corps' Institute for Water Resources Risk Management Center sought geotechnical work in 2012 for its Louisville, Denver and Pittsburgh offices. The Louisville District took information in December on firms able to perform major lock rehabilitation at Olmsted Dam on the Ohio River in Kentucky.

The Louisville District now seeks information on firms able to provide geotechnical services to support design, construction and operation and maintenance of Corps civil works projects including embankment and concrete gravity dams, levee and floodwall systems, navigation structures, channel improvement and stream bank stabilization. Other work includes support for design and construction of a range of military facilities.

The agency plans to use information received to determine the type of solicitation for the work, which is expected to include a five-year contract estimated at $400,000 per year.

A sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site,, by entering Solicitation No. W912QRGEOTECHSERVICES in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
