Dworshak Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids for head cover repair of a generating unit at the 402-MW Dworshak hydroelectric project in Idaho. A solicitation is expected about Feb. 15 with bids to be due about March 15.

The Corps' Walla Walla District took information in September on firms able to perform the work. It also took bids in December to rehabilitate turbine guide bearings at Dworshak and the 810-MW Lower Granite project.

The Corps plans to take bids for repair of Dworshak's Unit 3 250-MW Francis turbine including modifications of the head cover and stay ring and repair of servomotors, bearings, and seals. Valued at $5 million to $10 million, the work is expected to require 211 days.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF13R0009 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box. A site visit is expected to be offered about two weeks after the solicitation is issued.
