Ukraine seeks hydro generator rehab for 686-MW Kremenchuk, 661-MW Dnipro 2

PJSC UkrHydroEnergo seeks bids for rehabilitation of generators at the 686-MW Kremenchuk and 661-MW Dnipro2 hydroelectric projects on Ukraine's Dnieper River. Bids are due April 2.

The work is part of ongoing Ukrainian hydro project rehabilitation funded by the World Bank, European Investment Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The utility plans to extend project life with replacement equipment and dam safety work at six hydroelectric projects: 225-MW Kyiv (or Kiev) pumped-storage, 686-MW Kremenchuk (or Kremenchug), 352-MW Dniprodzerzhinsk (or Dniprodzerzhynsk or Dnieprojerzinsk), 651-MW Dnipro 1, 661-MW Dnipro 2 (or Dnieper or Dnieprovska 1 and 2) and 444-MW Kaniv. UkrHydroEnergo took bids in 2011 to supply and install dam monitoring software at the projects.

The current solicitation includes two lots:

  •  Lot 1, UHE/GEN1/T/1-12, rehabilitation of two generators of Kremenchuk, to be completed by February 2016;
  •  Lot 2, UHE/GEN2/T/1-12, rehabilitation of one generator of Dnipro 2.

Bids may be submitted for one or both lots.
