The municipality of Trondheim seeks bids to perform dam safety civil work at its Benna Dam hydropower project. Bids are due January 3, 2014.
Trondheim seeks firms to rehabilitate the masonry gravity dam to meet current requirements of Norway's dam safety regulations. Norway's government took bids in October to evaluate the dam safety program of the Norwegian water resources and energy directorate, Norges Vassdrags- og Energidirektorat (NVE). NVE supervises 3,775 dams and 1,539 waterways owned by 868 entities.
Trondheim seeks reinforcement of Benna Dam's downstream support filling, a new parapet and overflow profile, construction of a new gatehouse, assembly of a new bottom drain hatch and a system for minimum water supply, electrical work, upgrades to the site road, and laying fiber and ground cables.
