French utility seeks construction of 3.2-MW Encombres hydroelectric project

Local utility Synergie Maurienne seeks bids to construct the 3.2-MW Encombres a Saint Martin la Porte hydroelectric project on Bonrieu Creek in France's Savoy Region. Bids are due January 7, 2014.

Several such small hydro projects are under way in France. The town of Saint-Etienne called for bids December 10 to install the Roche Corbiere micro-hydro project in the municipality of Rochetaillee. Meanwhile, the governing council of France's Haut-Rhin Department took bids in October to supply and install three micro-hydro plants on the Rhone-Rhine canal in the Alsace Region. In the current solicitation, Synergie Maurienne seeks bids to build Encombres a Saint Martin la Porte, collecting waters of Bonrieu Creek and other sources on the left bank of St. Bernard River to power a hydro plant to be built at the confluence of the St. Bernard and the Arc rivers. The work is in three lots covering upstream structures and penstock to be built over nine months, the powerhouse to be built over 12 months, and supply of electro-mechanical equipment including a Pelton turbine-generator and transformer station to be installed over 14 months.

Tender documents may be obtained from the first address below until 6 p.m. January 6. Bids, in French, are due to the second address below until 11:30 a.m. January 7.
