Corps awards contract for water quality services

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a US$5 million contract to GKY & Associates to provide water resources engineering services for hydropower projects in its Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.

The Corps solicited bids for the work in September, which includes hydrologic modeling, flood emergency plans, preparation of inundation maps, flood evacuation plans and warning systems, lake sedimentation reports, water quality modeling, data collection and assessment for lakes and rivers, acid mine drainage abatement analysis, drought contingency plans, water control management manuals, levee certifications, and dam and levee inspections and assessments.
