Reclamation awards contract for hydropower plant asbestos removal

Asbestos and Technical Services LLC has won a US$37,810 contract for the removal and disposal of asbestos at or near the locations of several major Bureau of Reclamation hydropower projects.

Reclamation last solicited bids for the work in June, which will see the Cheyenne-based company remove asbestos from in Wyoming at Guernsey, location of the 6.4-MW Guernsey Dam project; Glendo, location of the 38-MW Glendo project; Boysen, location of the 15-MW Boysen project; Alcova, location of the 41.4-MW Alcova project; Seminoe, location of the 51.75-MW Seminoe project; 68.8-MW Fremont Canyon power plant; and Mills, location of the Wyoming Area Office.

The work is to be completed by September 30.
