State utility Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (UJVNL) has extended the deadline for bids to refurbish the 51-MW Dhalipur and 33.75-MW Dhakrani hydroelectric projects in India's Uttarakhand State. Bids now are due September 19.
UJVNL previously called for bids by June 18.
Uttarakhand, in mountainous northern India, is the site of numerous hydroelectric developments. UJVNL recruited firms in 2011 to build, operate, and maintain three hydro projects totaling 650 MW. Last year, the government approved UJVNL's construction of the 300-MW Lakhwad project in Uttarakhand.
The utility now seeks bids for renovation, modernization, and upgrade of Dhalipur, which has three 17-MW turbine-generators, and Dhakrani, which has three 11.25-MW units. Work is to include replacement or refurbishment of vital parts such as turbine runners, guide vanes, governors, excitation systems, stators and rotors, auxiliary systems, hydraulic steel structures, and civil works.
Bid documents for Dhalipur (No. RMU (YV)/2011-12/01) and Dhakrani (No. RMU (YV)/2011-12/02) may be obtained from the Internet site of UJVNL, www.uttarakhandjalvidyut.com. Payment for each set of documents is 100,000 rupees (US$1,823) by demand draft at the time of bid submission in favor of UJVN Ltd., State Bank of India, Account No. 30024638487, payable at Dehradun. They also may be obtained for those fees from the address below until September 18.
