India seeks turbine components, electrical equipment for 280-MW Dhauliganga hydro project

India hydropower developer NHPC Ltd. seeks bids to supply a turbine guide bearing and shaft seal and control and monitoring equipment, static excitation, and a digital governor system for the 280-MW Dhauliganga hydroelectric project in India's Uttarakhand State. Bids in two solicitations are due August 23 and 26.

The Dhauliganga power plant was reported flooded in June by one of the heaviest monsoons in India's history. The project includes a concrete-faced rockfill dam and four 70-MW turbine-generators commissioned in 2005-2006 on the Dhauliganga River.

In the first of two solicitations, NHPC seeks online electronic bids to supply an MIV seal, turbine guide bearing assembly, and shaft seal assembly for Dhauliganga. Tender documents may be obtained until August 21 and bids submitted via the tendering Internet site www.tcil-india-electronictender.com. A link to the site also is available on NHPC's Internet site www.nhpcindia.com under "e-Procurement." Bids are due by 11 a.m. August 23.

In a second solicitation, NHPC seeks online electronic bids to supply a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, a static excitation system, excitation transformer, digital electronic governor system, and control and protection system for Dhauliganga. Tender documents may be obtained until August 22 and bids submitted via the tendering Internet site www.tcil-india-electronictender.com. A link to the site also is available on NHPC's Internet site www.nhpcindia.com under "e-Procurement." Bids are due by 11 a.m. August 26.
