U.S. seeks generator rotor refurbishment at 17.29-MW Green Springs hydro project

Green Springs Hydropower Plant

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids for generator rotor refurbishment at the 17.29-MW Green Springs hydropower plant in Oregon. Bids are due July 26.

Green Springs, built in 1960, is part of the Talent Division of the Rogue River Basin Project, provided for construction, rehabilitation, and improvement of irrigation facilities of the Talent, Medford, and Rogue River Valley Irrigation districts and the provision of supplemental water for those lands. In 2009, Reclamation awarded a $2 million contract to Koontz Electric Co. Inc. to replace transformers and modify a switchyard at Green Springs.

The agency now seeks bids to refurbish generator rotor poles including supply of all materials, equipment, tools, engineering, labor, and supervision to repair and refurbish 12 field poles. Refurbishment includes removing the winding from the field pole body, removing all insulation from the winding (which is asbestos free), preparing and reinsulating the winding, clean-up of field pole steel and inspect, repaint field pole steel as required, replace any broken washers, and reinstall winding with required insulation.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R13PS13350 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Bids are due July 26. For information, contact Connie Morgan, Purchasing Agency, Bureau of Reclamation – PN – Columbia Cascades Area Office, 1917 Marsh Road, Yakima, WA 98901; (1) 509-575-5848 ext. 241; E-mail: cmorgan@usbr.gov.
