The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids to refurbish metalwork coating systems at Enders Dam in Nebraska. A site visit is scheduled July 10 with bids due July 24.
Reclamation's Great Plains Office in Billings, Mont., took bids in 2011 for concrete repairs at Enders and at Trenton Dam.
Enders is part of the Frenchman-Cambridge Division of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program. While it primarily provides water storage for irrigation along the Republican River in Nebraska, it has been considered by a government study to be the potential site of a hydropower project of 6.8 MW.
Work at the 134-foot-tall earthfill Enders Dam is to include sediment removal, hazardous material containment systems, concrete and grout removal and repair at the 84-inch steel outlet pipe support ring base plates, scaffolding, and removal of existing coating systems and application of new coatings to metalwork. The work is expected to cost between $500,000 and $1 million.
