Italy hydro operator seeks turbine-generators for 2.6-MW Fontanamora

Italian hydropower utility Edison S.p.A. seeks bids to supply two turbine-generators and other equipment for the 2.6-MW Fontanamora hydroelectric project to be built in Bagolino, Italy. Bids are due June 26.

Edison is a major Italian utility controlled by regional utility A2A and Electricite de France. In 2006 it named Andino Hydropower Eng. of France to supply replacement turbines to the Albano Dongo project and PAC S.p.A. of Italy to refurbish the 65-MW Ponte Gardena project.

In the current solicitation, Edison seeks bids for design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of two Francis turbines, two synchronous generators of 1.3 MW each, and the balance of plant mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment at Fontanamora. The work is to require 12 months.
