Corps seeks architect-engineers for civil works including dams in upper Midwest

St Paul District

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks expressions of interest from small architect-engineering firms to carry out civil works, including dams, in six primary disciplines in the upper Midwest. Responses are due May 13.

The Corps' St. Paul district seeks responses from small firms with expertise in structural, civil, geotechnical, hydraulic, mechanical, and electric engineering. Additional disciplines sought include architecture, landscape architecture, cost engineering, and specification writing.

Work would include flood risk management projects such as levees, flood walls, diversion channels and pumping stations; navigation projects such as locks and dams, channels, and harbor work; and other civil works such as dam safety, recreation, and ecosystem restoration.

The work would be performed in the St. Paul District including Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The Corp's St. Louis District sought architect-engineers in March to work on dams and various other projects in the region.

Similar calls for civil works engineering in the region were issued in 2012. The St. Louis District awarded a contract last year to Hasslet & Willis Co. LLC to support the Corps' National Flood Risk Management Program.

The St. Paul District anticipates awarding up to two indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contracts for one year with four one-year option periods valued at up to $4.5 million.
