Niger seeks supervision of hydropower equipment for 125-MW Kandadji Dam

The government of Niger invites expressions of interest to supervise installation of hydropower equipment for 125-MW Kandadji Dam on the Niger River. Responses are due May 16.

The Kandadji Dam project includes construction of a dam for regulating the flow of the Niger River in order to provide water for irrigation, drinking, sanitation, ecology, grazing, fisheries, and about 629 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually. The government pre-qualified firms to supply hydro-mechanical equipment in 2011.

The government's high commission on Niger Valley management, Haut Commissariat a l'Amenagement de la Vallee du Niger, now invites expressions of interest to evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts for hydroelectric equipment, review company plans, inspect during manufacturing, monitor testing and commissioning, and guarantee environment, health, and safety.

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the address below. Expressions of interest and qualifications, labeled "Surveillance et controle de la realisation des equipments hydroelectriques (Lot 3) du barrage Kandadji" are due to the address below by noon May 16.
