French owner seeks operation, maintenance of 60-MW Villerest Dam

Loire River dams owner Etablissement Public Loire (EPL) seeks bids for operation and maintenance of 60-MW Villerest Dam on the Loire in France. Bids are due June 14.

EPL awarded a contract in 2007 to BRL Exploitation of France to operate and maintain a sister project, 9-MW Naussac 1 and 2 small hydro and pumping stations in the Loire Basin.

In addition to producing electricity, Villerest is operated for flood control and to maintain minimum flows in the Loire during low water periods.

EPL seeks bids for operation and maintenance of Villerest from January 2014 through January 2019.
