U.S. extends derrick crane repair bidding for 980-MW McNary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to repair derrick cranes at the navigation lock of 980-MW McNary Dam on the Columbia River. Bids now are due Jan. 2, 2013.

The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by Dec. 27. It took bids Dec. 4 for submersible cable for barrier screens at McNary, in Umatilla, Ore.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps now seeks bids for repair of derrick cranes at McNary's navigation lock. Work includes all engineering and on-site installation required to repair cracks in the hubs at the heel of the boom on a fixed derrick crane by replacing the hubs.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF13R0015 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Bids now are due Jan. 2. For information, contact Julie Morris, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. 3rd Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7220; E-mail: julie.m.morris@usace.army.mil.
