El Salvador seeks transformers for two hydropower projects

El Salvador utility Comision Ejecutiva Hidroelectrica del Rio Lempa (CEL) seeks bids two supply two transformers for the 180-MW Quince de Septiembre and 99.4-MW Cinco de Noviembre hydroelectric projects on El Salvador's Rio Lempa.

Site visits are planned January 7 and 8, 2013, with bids due February 11.

CEL previously took bids for slope stability analysis and reinforcement proposals for the two projects and 172.8-MW Cerron Grande, also on Rio Lempa. Cel took bids in October to construct an 80-MW expansion of Cinco de Noviembre.

The utility now seeks bids for design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of two 13.8/115 kilovolt transformers, one of 60/80/100 megavolt-amperes for Quince de Septiembre and another of 20/25 MVa for Cinco de Noviembre.

Those obtaining the documents from the Internet are to notify CEL by e-mail at the address below.

Questions are to be submitted by January 25 to the address below or by e-mail to licitaciones@cel.gob.sv. Site visits are scheduled January 7 for Cinco de Noviembre and January 8 for Quince de Septiembre. Those seeking to attend are to contact Unidad de Operaciones de la Gerencia de Produccion at (503) 2211-6318, Fax: (503) 2211-6321 not later than three days before the visit.
