U.S. to seek velocity meters for 120-MW Parker

The Bureau of Reclamation plans to seek bids to supply acoustic velocity meters for 120-MW Parker Dam on the Colorado River.

Reclamation said it expects to issue a solicitation about Nov. 15 with bids to be due a month later. The agency sought information from firms in March to determine whether to set aside the work for small businesses.

In a notice indicating the solicitation will be unrestricted, Reclamation said it will seek bids to supply time-transit acoustic velocity meters in four 22-foot penstocks. Work is to include installing transducers with an internal mount, wiring and cabling for communications, and AVM electronics in the control room and penstocks.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R12PS30171 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
