BCI Construction USA wins bid for gantry crane work at 6-MW Mahoning Creek

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth US$1.74 million to BCI Construction USA Inc. to rehabilitate and paint gantry cranes at Mahoning Creek Dam.

The Corps' Pittsburgh District last called for bids in August in a tender reserved for small businesses.

The Corps-owned Mahoning Creek Dam is located on Mahoning Creek in Armstrong County, Pa.

HydroWorld.com reported in April 2011 that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission had issued a license to Mahoning Creek Hydroelectric Co. LLC for the construction of a 6-MW hydropower project at this dam.
