ESI Contracting wins Corps contract for work at 517.8-MW Garrison Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth US$3.4 million to ESI Contracting Corp. for the rehabilitation of drainage systems at North Dakota's 517.8-MW Garrison Dam.

The Corps' Omaha District last solicited bids for the work in July, which is one of a number of ongoing repair projects resulting from 2011 flooding of the Missouri River Basin.

As per the award, ESI Contracting will be responsible for drain system work, including replacing manholes, catch basins, sub-drains, and observation risers in addition to installation of eight relief well outfall pipes within the switchyard and powerhouse cut-slopes at Garrison.

ESI Contracting also will be required to hydro-flush selected drain segments, provide visual inspection with remote-operated camera equipment, and provide a detailed formal report documenting findings.
