Swiss seek turbine-generator for 1.6-MW Sonzier

SION, Switzerland 4/11/12 (PennWell) -- Contractor Hydro Exploitation SA seeks bids to supply a replacement turbine-generator for the 1.6-MW Sonzier hydroelectric project on Switzerland's Torneresse and Eau-Froide rivers. A site visit is planned April 23, with bids due June 29.

Hydro Exploitation is refurbishing Sonzier, built in 1901, for owner Romande Energie.

The contractor seeks bids to design, manufacture, install, and commission either a horizontal or vertical Pelton turbine-generator, penstock connection, valves, controls, and related equipment. Work is to be performed between February 2013 and September 2014.

Firms seeking to participate in an April 23 site visit must give notice by April 20 to Hydro Exploitation at the e-mail address below. Bidding documents may be obtained until June 1. A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Simap system for European public procurement at http://www.simap.ch/shabforms/servlet/Search?NOTICE_NR=730895.
