Reclamation issues temporary directive and standard for Lease of Power Privilege requirements

WASHINGTON, D.C. 4/9/12 (PennWell) -- The Bureau of Reclamation has issued a temporary directive and standard for Lease of Power Privilege requirements and processes effective for no longer than one year.

Reclamation says its updated guidelines "provide a common understanding of how the LOPP process is administered" and how the bureau "will enhance working relationships with its project partners."

The temporary release was updated to reflect comments received during the first comment period of the draft directive and standard, which was announced in November 2011.

The temporary release is available at Reclamation's website, and a summary can be found here.

Comments made on the temporary directive and standard are due June 4, 2012, at 5 p.m. EST.

In March 2012, Reclamation announced it would give two LOPP permits for its Uncompahgre Irrigation Project in Montrose County, Colo.
