Hydro Research Foundation accepting applications for Fellowship Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. 2/3/12 (PennWell) -- The Hydro Research Foundation is accepting applications for its 2012 Fellowship Program.

This year, HRF will fund seven to 12 fellowships in amounts ranging from $46,400 to $79,600.

The program is open to graduate students who will complete their Masters degree or post-Masters research by Dec. 30, 2013.

For the past two years, the foundation has been working with a $3 million, four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind and Water Power Technology Program. This year, the foundation has new partnerships with Weir American Hydro, Knight Piesold and Co. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The partnerships will help the program “move toward a sustainable program and offer internships, research facilities, access to knowledge, and career placement opportunities for students,” HRF says.

The foundation named nine fellows in 2010 and 14 fellows in 2011.

Applications for the 2012 program are due March 1. Announcements of fellows selected will be made on April 4. For more information, visit www.hydrofoundation.org or e-mail brenna@hydrofoundation.org.
