Corps awards pintle contract to G&G Steel

HUNTINGTON, W.VA., 2/16/12 (PennWell) -- G&G Steel Inc. has won a US$608,536 contract to supply pintle assemblies for the Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam on the Ohio River.

The Corps' Huntington District called for bids in January 2012.

The Byrd Locks and Dam is operated for navigation by the Corps, but is the site of a proposed 48-MW hydroelectric project.

G&G's contract says the company will furnish all equipment, materials, labor and supervision for the fabrication and delivery of two steel and aluminum bronze pintle assemblies, including patterns, castings, bushings, bolts, screws, keys and shoes.
