U.S. seeks pintle assemblies for Robert C. Byrd Locks, Dam

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. 1/11/12 (PennWell) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to supply pintle assemblies for Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam on the Ohio River. Bids are due Jan. 20.

Byrd Locks and Dam, at Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., is operated for navigation by the Corps, but is the site of a proposed 48-MW hydropower project being pursued by American Municipal Power (No. 12796).

In a solicitation that is set aside for small business, the Corps' Huntington District seeks a contractor to furnish all equipment, materials, labor, and supervision for fabrication and delivery of two steel and aluminum bronze pintle assemblies, including patterns, castings, bushings, bolts, screws, keys, and shoes.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9123712B0001 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
