U.S. seeks bearing parts for Dworshak, Little Goose, Lower Monumental

WALLA WALLA, Wash., U.S. 1/18/12 (PennWell) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for thrust bearing oil coolers, guide and thrust bearing shoes, and thrust bearing runners for the 402-MW Dworshak, 810-MW Little Goose, and 810-MW Lower Monumental hydroelectric projects in the Pacific Northwest. Bids are due Jan. 31.

The Corps took bids in 2011 for design-build construction work in the Pacific Northwest that was expected to include the three projects. 

In the first of two solicitations, the Corps' Walla Walla District called for bids Jan. 31 from small businesses for four spare thrust bearing oil coolers for the Dworshak powerhouse on the Clearwater River in Idaho and one thrust bearing oil cooler assembly for Little Goose on the Snake River in Washington.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF12Q0005 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

In a second solicitation, the Corps called for bids Jan. 31 from all businesses to supply a spare set of generator guide bearing shoes for Dworshak; a spare set of generator thrust bearing shoes to fit generators at Little Goose or Lower Monumental on the Snake River in Washington; and a spare generator thrust bearing runner to fit generators at Little Goose or Lower Monumental.
