Thomson poised to take over at Manitoba Hydro

WINNIPEG, Manitoba 1/27/12 (PennWell) -- Scott A. Thomson will become the president and chief executive officer of Canadian provincial utility Manitoba Hydro effective Feb. 13, the utility announces.

Thomson previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Fortis BC Holding Inc., a natural gas and electric utility in British Columbia.

The Manitoba Hydro Board of Directors conducted an international search with an executive search firm to identify candidates for the position.

Thomson takes over for Bob Brennan, who announced his retirement in August 2011 after 47 years with the Crown Corporation.
