CHAMBERY, France 1/13/12 (PennWell) -- Campenon Bernard Regions has been awarded a contract for civil engineering earthwork at France's 546-MW La Bathie project.

Electricite de France (EDF) last sought bids for the project in May 2010, which calls for excavation, use of pumps to lower the water table, and reinforcing concrete construction at the 50-year-old La Bathie site.

Financial details were not specified in the award notice. Work is expected to take 18 months.

Bids for work on La Bathie's outlet channel were announced in April 2010.
