Bosnia seeks dam grouting at 57-MW Grabovica, 210-MW Salakovac

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina 11/14/11 (PennWell) -- Utility Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina seeks bids to perform grouting to address water leakage in the dams of the 57-MW Grabovica and 210-MW Salakovac hydroelectric projects. Bids are due December 1.

Elektroprivreda awarded a 2.98 million euro (US$4 million) contract in February to Austria-based Strabag AG to rehabilitate and modernize the dam safety monitoring system of Grabovica, Salakovac, and the 181.2-MW Jablanica project. The European Investment Bank approved a loan to Bosnia and Herzegovina for rehabilitation of hydro plants and electricity distribution systems as part of theEnergy Community of Southeast Europe APL 3 Project.

In the current solicitation, Elektroprivreda BiH seeks a contractor to clean surfaces inside galleries and the downstream face of the dams from calcite sediments, to perform grouting for treatment of joints between dam blocks and of designated areas inside dam galleries, and to drill control boreholes. The work is to require 12 months.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below upon payment of 100 euros (US$136). Payment from abroad is to be through HYPO ALPE-ADRIA BANK d.d. Mostar, SWIFT HAABBA22 or IBAN No. BA393060203780020702. Payment within Bosnia and Herzegovina, 196 marka, is to be through HYPO ALPE-ADRIA BANK d.d. Mostar, Account No. 3060510000013961. Payments are to carry the note "For JP ELEKTROPRIVREDA BOSNE I HERCEGOVINE d.d. Sarajevo" with identification of purpose: Purchase of Bidding Documents No. EPBiH-ECSEE-APL3-D2-1/10-EIB. Documents will be delivered by courier for an additional 100 euros (US$136).

Bids are due by 1 p.m. December 1 to the address below, labeled "Grouting Works to address Water Leakage in Grabovica and Salakovac Dams."
