Tetra Tech to perform hydroelectric construction work for 45-MW plant

PASADENA, Calif., U.S. 9/14/11 (PennWell) - Tetra Tech Inc. was awarded a $23 million hydroelectric construction project for Rochester Gas and Electric Corp. (RG&E), a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA.

Tetra Tech will reconstruct and reinforce a water conveyance tunnel and install a new liner at RG&E’s 45-MW Station 5 run-of-river facility in Rochester, NY. RG&E’s Station 5 is located on the Genesee River, approximately 6.5 river-miles from Lake Ontario.

The Station 5 tunnel transmits screened water 1,600 feet from an impoundment area to the powerhouse and turbine generating equipment.
