Indonesia's Directorate General of Water Resources has extended the deadline for expressions of interest from consultants to rehabilitate and improve the safety of 187-MW Jatiluhur Dam. Responses now are due September 20.
The directorate originally called for responses by August 26. The agency recruited consultants in 2009 to provide technical assistance to a dam operational improvement and safety program including Jatiluhur on the Citarum River.
The current solicitation calls for a consultant to perform a range of engineering and related services related to safety of Jatiluhur and performance of its reservoir.
Work is to include: determination of sedimentation, current storage, and life expectancy of the reservoir; organization of a workshop for Jatiluhur in accordance with U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission engineering guidelines; major inspection and safety evaluation; improvement of outlet works capacities to enable emergency discharge of water; examination of the main embankment dam and remedial recommendations; examination of the morning glory spillway tower and recommended improvements; design of an automatic data acquisition system; and inspection and recommended repairs for civil structure and hydro-mechanical and electrical works. Other work includes: preparation of an auxiliary spillway concept design; downstream flood assessment; and development of long-term integrated operating procedures for the cascade dams system in the Citarum River.
