Portugal utility extends bidding to equip 136-MW Alvito

Energias de Portugal (EDP) has extended the deadline for bids to equip the 136-MW Alvito pumped-storage project in Portugal. Bids now are due October 10.

EDP previously called for bids by August 8 to equip Alvito and by June 27 to equip the 234-MW Foz Tua pumped-storage project. EDP won a concession in 2008 to build and operate Alvito, on the Ocreza River in the Tejo River Basin and the 256-MW Fridao project on the Tamega River in the Douro River Basin.

EDP seeks bids to supply all equipment for Alvito including a reversible pump-turbine, generator, lifting equipment, transformer, command and control, and related equipment. The work is to require 50 months.

Tender documents in digital format may be obtained from the address below for 500 euros (US$719) in cash or crossed check to EDP - Gestao da Producao de Energia S.A.
