Consultants sought to develop Rwanda renewables strategy

The government of Rwanda invites expressions of interest from consultants to help develop a renewable energy strategy for the African nation. Responses are due September 5.

With financing from the World Bank, Rwanda's Energy, Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA) recruited consultants in August to review feasibility studies of hydroelectric, gas, and peat-fueled projects proposed for Rwanda. A consultant to the World Bank also recruited consultants in August to assess viability of renewable energy projects, including small hydro, in East Africa including Rwanda.

EWSA now seeks a consultant in renewable energy to support the agency to develop a renewable energy strategy for Rwanda, specifically to monitor implementation of work plans of Rwanda's Sustainable Energy Development Project. The work is expected to require 12 months, with an option for renewal.

Expressions of interest and qualifications are due September 5.
