Concrete repair services sought for 10 to 15 U.S. dams

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks firms to perform specialized concrete repair services at 10 to 15 government-owned dams in a multi-state region. Firms are invited to request tender documents by Aug. 31.

Reclamation's Acquisition Operation Group plans to contract with a firm for a base period of one year with an optional one-year extension. It said primary considerations include the ability to perform on-site services with minimal lead time, estimated at 14 days, and highly technical qualifications of contractors.

The agency seeks firms with experience in chemical grouting including grouting water leaks associated with large civil structures such as dams and hydropower plants, and grouting contraction joints of dams and expansion joints of power plant decks and other structures. It also seeks experience in concrete coring of dams, spillways, diversion structures, and retaining walls, as well as concrete repair using dry pack, replacement concrete, and prepackaged cementitious repair materials.
