U.S. extends circuit breaker bidding for 2,078-MW Hoover

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids to supply two generator circuit breakers and related equipment at 2,078-MW Hoover Dam on the Colorado River. Bids now are due July 29.

Reclamation previously called for bids by July 15. It took bids in May to recondition and restore heat exchangers at Hoover in Arizona and Nevada.

The bureau now seeks bids from firms to design, manufacture, deliver, and install two generator-type SF6 breakers, rated at 25.3-kilovolts and rated to interrupt 128,000 amps fault current. The contract is expected to have a two-year performance period.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. R11PS30063 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Bids now are due July 29. For information, contact Brooke Mena, Contract Specialist, Bureau of Reclamation, LC, Lower Colorado Regional Office, P.O. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006; (1) 702-2938489; E-mail: bmena@usbr.gov.
