FERC seeks contractor to process hydro preliminary permits

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission seeks bids from firms to process applications for preliminary permits to study hydroelectric projects in the United States. Bids are due Aug. 4.

FERC's Office of Energy Projects said it would respond to questions and requests for clarification submitted in writing by 10 a.m., Eastern time, July 28.

The commission seeks a contractor to review preliminary permit applications for adequacy, prepare drafts of notices, and when appropriate prepare draft preliminary permit orders for issuance. The contractor could be called on to review either conventional or hydrokinetic applications.

Bids are to be made for a proposed blanket purchase agreement based on price per application processed.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. FERC11R1008 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
