Dominican Republic seeks studies of hydro reservoirs

The Dominican Republic's hydraulic resources institute invites expressions of interest to perform bathymetric surveys and water quality and sedimentation studies of eight hydropower reservoirs in the Dominican Republic. Responses are due July 29.

Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidraulicos (INDRHI) seeks the studies as part of a program of emergency recovery and risk management for natural disasters. Reservoirs to be studied include those of 52-MW Moncion, 10.1-MW Rincon, 13-MW Sabana Yegua, 113-MW Tavera, 54-MW Valdesia, Bao, 98-MW Jiguey, and 8-MW Hatillo.

Work is to include: bathymetric surveys and preparation of digital bathymetric models using multibeam or sidescan sonar technologies; topographic surveys to develop a digital model of land surfaces in the reservoir areas; analysis of reservoir sedimentation; and analysis of water quality in reservoirs and primary tributaries.

Expressions of interest are due to the address below by July 29.
