Pakistan seeks consultants to build 4.2-MW Nai Gaj

Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) invites expressions of interest from consultants to supervise construction of the 4.2-MW Nai Gaj hydroelectric project on the Gaj River in Dadu District, Sindh Province. Responses are due July 4.

Nai Gaj is to include a 194-foot-tall, 3,875-foot-long earth core rockfill dam and powerhouse.

WAPDA said construction supervision is to be undertaken through engineering consulting firms or joint ventures of domestic and foreign consultants registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council. Pakistan took bids in 2010 for turnkey construction of five small hydro projects.

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below for 2,000 rupees (US$24). WAPDA plans to invite proposals from a short-list of bidders.
