U.S. seeks trash boom, gear for 36-MW Cheatham

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for supply of a trash boom and miscellaneous equipment for 36-MW Cheatham Dam on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. Bids are due May 31.

The Corps took bids in December 2010 for supply of eight tainter gate machinery housings and tainter gate hoist chains for Cheatham. Cheatham Dam is among nine Cumberland River hydroelectric projects found to require as much as $470 million in repairs.

The Corps' Nashville District currently seeks bids to fabricate and deliver a complete trash boom section without handrail and an additional ballasted flotation cylinder with attached gusset plates. The work is to be set aside for Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) small businesses.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912P511B0010 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
